My wife and I rented a 2007 Gold wing and would recommend California Motorcycle Adventures. Their road mapping and site selection were spot on and the bike ran as smooth as silk. Other than a minor seat/hand warmer not working, everything else was top notch. They are friendly and easy to get along with. I would rent again in an instant.

After being collected from our hotel by Ilene, my buddy and I were introduced to our rides for the next 7 days, Heritage Softail and Roadking. Once we had familiarised ourselves with the bikes, we were off. Headed straight for the Pacific Coast Highway then south to Santa Cruz then Santa Barbara. That has got to be one of the best rides of my life, the roads and scenery are awesome. The next few days took in Barstow, Mojave, Vegas (Wow!),Hoover Dam, route 66 to Williams, thanks to Jackie at the Canyon Club for a great night, then on to the Grand Canyon. My God, I've heard people say it takes your breath away but thought that was just a figure of speach. It literally does just that.
Time to head back now via Barstow once more, Paso Robles was our last night before returning the bikes to the shop after what was a truly amazing trip of a lifetime. The rides, scenery, motels and hotels, weather (damn hot!), everything was absolutely outstanding. The bikes ran ! like a dream and even when we had some concern over a slight oil leak on the Road King on route to the shop, we rang Scott who instructed us to take it to the Harley dealership in Monterey where we were treated to a free BBQ, drinks and the icing on the cake, the Monterey Air Show was on. So thanks to all the staff at Harley, Monterey. The American people made sure our stay was 1st class and I cannot express in words just how fantastic everyone was. Thanks once again to Ilene, Scott and all the crew.

I would like to thank Scott, Ilene and California Motorcycle Adventures for making our trip hassle free.Myself and 5 friends hired 4 bikes and a vehicle to tour California, Arizona, Utah and Nevada over 2 weeks in September, riding 2200 miles from LA round to SF via Tucson, Monument Valley and Las Vegas. The bikes (Road King, 2 Heritage Classics and a Softail) were delivered to LA on time and in excellent condition. We visited the main National Parks including the Grand Canyon, making this a once in a lifetime trip and a truly unforgettable experience.

Ilene & Scott, Thank you very much for making our experience full of memories we will have forever! We saw more in those four days than we've seen in a long time. My wife and I came back a week ago from a trip we got to take through you folks. We rented a Road King and went down to Big Sur and then started north on Highway 1 going into Oregon. We had the time of our lives.
The bike was flawless,Ilene's trip planning was spot on and the road was fabulous. Redwoods, lighthouses, whales, hippies, the beaches, mountains and all anyone could ever expect from a trip to California. We were treated exceptionally well by the staff and can't say enough good things about the trip.

A couple of months ago I rented an '06 Goldwing from California Motorcycle Adventures for a weekend as I have been trying compare touring bikes.
Even though the motorcycle was an '06 with over 35k miles it ran like a champ and was very comfortable to ride. I must say too that when I picked it up it was clean and didn't look like it had been ridden by different riders for 35k miles.
Check in and out staff were great and made me feel very much at home when I arrived at the shop to pick up and drop off the motorcycle. I would most definitely recommend California Motorcycle Adventures to my friends and others who want to rent a motorcycle.

I Visited San Fransisco in August the Motorcycle rental from California Motorcycle Adventure was the highlight of my trip. The pacific coast highway ranks up there as one of my best rides in 40yrs. Ilene and Scott made me feel like an old friend. The Electra Glide, and the service were second to none. I would recomend them to anyone and plan on renting again myself next year. Thank You,

My two sons decided to celebrate my sixtieth birthday by biking Northern California. We rented three Honda ST 1300's (called Pan European's in Europe), which in my opinion are easier for European bikers to ride than Harley-Davidsons. California Motorcycle Adventures helped us to plan and organize the trip. We did almost ten days of a fantastic riding along the Pacific Ocean, throught Giant redwood trees land and Yosemite National Park, ending by Napa Valley and the Monterey area before turning back to San Francisco. Perfect bikes and organisation made us regret ending our trip!
The best for us was the help discovering the important things to see and the good and safe small roads.Thank-you CMA for making this dream of biking California possible!

We are from the Vreet & Zuip commissie from Holland and in 2010 we rented 8 Harleys from Scott (in Januari 2007 we rented 3) to ride from San Francisco, Yosemite park, Death Valley, Las Vegas, Zion park, Grand Canyon, Route 66, Oatman, Blue Mountains, Santa Monica, Highway One to San Francisco. Trip of a lifetime. We only booked a flight and the Harleys from Scott and off we went, we were freeeeee.
Scott and Ilene are great they made it as easy as possible for us. We had the best bikes, no breakdowns or anything. Trust, thats what you want when you organize a trip for 8 riders from Holland. And thats what you get from Scott and Ilene with their personal touch. We did, went, got everything we hoped for and more and more. Many Thanks from the boys from Holland. And till .....

Scott & Ilene: thanks for the follow-up, will be back this spring. We had a great time on our west coast trip. Toured Yosemite as you informed us of the good routes, didn't have to worry about lodging because we had that secured, but it wasn't really needed, it just made us have to stick to a schedule which as you know isn't that keen, takes the excitement out.
Traveling to Yosemite from your business was a great ride, route 1 was beautiful, so says my lady, but i had white knuckles in parts of it. Enjoyed staying in mariposa, in fact6 I enjoyed it so much that I got married there. Kind of had it planned but not for my lady to know about, called the county clerk office the morning of 07/08/10, asked if she was busy, exchanged names and told her I’d be there in the AM, the little lady & I headed out in search of gas, I found the court house, we got off and headed to the court house, she asked what the heck are we doing, I saw a deputy sheriff talking to a lady, so I asked him where the court house was, he looked at me and said right in front of you and what I wanted, I told him I was going to get married but the little lady had no clue, he called her over and took out his hand cuffs and put them in her face and said you'd better follow me, she said, I don't know what he's (me) done, but i didn't have any part of it !
Now take in mind none of this was planned, it just all fell together, upon going into the county clerk’s office, I met the clerk and said, hello Karen and she replied hi Frank, the little lady didn't have a clue yet, I filled out my part of the form and said to her "wanta get married ? She replied I guess, so the clerk married us out in the flower gardens. Good news about this wedding, total cost was $114.00, but I had a $100.00 dollar bill tucked away from my winnings at the dog track, so it really only cost me $14.00 !!!
My first marriage at age 61, returned back to our start at California Motorcycle Adventures, unloaded and had a great talk with the owners, good equipment and helpful knowledge as to clothing to take & wear, (guess I didn't need winter clothes after all) great trip and excellent equipment, we are going back this spring. This is my story and I’m sticking to it.

We just returned from our vacation in California and a big thanks to Scott & Ilene for making it a wonderful trip. Our Goldwing performed great and was very clean when we picked it up. They spent time reviewing all the paperwork details with us and answered questions. We've never been to California and with Ilene's help, we covered 1600 miles in 7 days, seeing more than we ever thought possible.
Ilene does a great job routing out things for you and I highly recommend her suggestions. We did explore a little off the beaten path but her hotel suggestions and sight-seeing guide was perfect. I would definitely use a GPS as a secondary guide for getting around. We are planning to come back again and would definitely use their services again. GREAT JOB!!

As with all trips, you make plans for years but never get around to doing so. Well, this time we did.
Having set a date, we went on line to find a good bike for a good price. After a few quotes we decided on California Motorcycle Adventures. This turned out to be a great choice. The request for a quote and other questions was answered very clear and fast.
Having arrived at the shop after a very long flight we found 4 shining Harley Davidsons Electra Glide Classics. An impressive sight! After a clear instruction by Scott we packed the bikes and set of on our three week tour of the west coast of the USA. We all ride bikes, but none of us had ridden a Harley before. So straight on to the twist and turns through Redwood Forrest to the shoreline of the Big Sur route 1. Was daunting to say the least. But breathtaking!

My wife and myself had the trip of a lifetime in May this year (2010) staying in San Francisco for 2 weeks then 1 week riding the Pacific Highway. I recommend California Motorcycle Adventuress to anyone thinking of hiring a bike in San Francisco, all the team are highly professional, very helpful, and extremely friendly. From first picking us up in the city and driving us to pick up the bike, planning a route for us and recommending places to stay, right up to booking a hotel and driving us there at the end of our holiday they were great. The bike was a dream to drive, and although it was one of the older ones in their fleet, it was in immaculate condition (as the photos show) and never faltered once, starting first time, every time. Thanks to all the team for making this a trip to remember!

Thank you all so much for making the whole process from renting the bike, being picked up from our hotel and setting off from your workshop so simple and straightforward - it couldn't have been handled any better. The Electra-Glide we rented was excellent - well prepared, well maintained and obviously cared for. Special thanks to Ilene for organising the itinerary and suggesting accommodation along the way - absolutely perfect.
As you may recall my only experience prior to hiring from you is on sport bikes here in the UK. Riding a Harley 'on the wrong side of the road' was therefore a very different experience involving more than a few wobbles at low speed - fortunately it didn't take too long to get the hang of it! Riding a Harley along the Pacific Coast Highway is something I had wanted to do for many years, but hadn't quite got round to. It took some gentle persuasion to get Ruth to agree, (she isn't at all keen on motorbikes) but she knew how much it meant to me and obligingly dusted off her sense of adventure! Happily we both thoroughly enjoyed our 5 day, 800 mile, trip down PCH to Santa
Barbara and back via the hills of the wine country, meeting a lot of interesting characters along the way, not least in the 19th Hole just outside Hollister- just wish we could have stayed there a little longer!
So once again many thanks for everything. We have no hesitation in recommending California Motorcycle Adventures to anyone. Brilliant service, brilliant bikes, brilliant people!

This spring I called these nice folks to rent a motorcycle. Rather, I needed 4 bikes. OK, no problem.
I was the only rider...Ok...no problem. Great!
You see, I was checking out a variety of motorcycles. So, we created a plan. 4 bikes in 2 days. Road King, Electra-Glide, Heritage Soft Tail. What the heck, throw in a Goldwing.
I'm happy to report it went smooth as silk. Scott and Ilene are a great team and their staff is first rate. The bikes were ready when I was.
Maybe there is less trouble to rent to a group, but they were so together about it.
Explained every bike in detail, coached me on the fine points of difference.
What can I say... what a birthday present I gave myself! Perfect experience. Not a bit of trouble with any of the bikes. But, I knew Scott was ready to send help as he is with all his rental customers. I will certainly continue to tell my friends what a fun time this was.

Owner / family business interested in me as a person, could not have been more helpful. Better than I could have hoped for. Picked up from airport, great advice about travelling, genuinely concerned that I would have a great time, even though it was January and the weather iffy.
Slight issue on the bike (ABS sensor)I had was promptly dealt with - replacement bike personally delivered at a time and location that suited me. It's often when things go awry that you discover people's customer service & Scott was exactly what you always hope for but rarely get - 10/10 brilliant.
